Is it your connection, the app, or a block?

It fails on Wi-Fi but works on mobile data?
The problem is that network or that provider.
Downdetector shows complaints only from Azerbaijan?
It is most likely a block or a slowdown. When an app is down worldwide, complaints come from every country.
Text loads, but photos and videos do not?
That is what a slowdown looks like. The app does not close, it crawls.

How to connect

A VPN carries your connection through an encrypted tunnel to a server outside Azerbaijan. Your provider sees that you connect to a server, not which apps you use.

  1. Download AkcaVPN. It runs on iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows.
  2. Pick a location outside Azerbaijan and connect. If it is slow, try a stealth location. Its traffic looks like ordinary web traffic.
  3. Close Instagram or TikTok and open it again.

Download VPN apps only from the App Store, Google Play or the provider's own site. Everyone gets 777 MB a day for free, with no email and no card.

Connected already? The DNS leak test and the WebRTC leak test show whether anything leaks around the VPN.

Questions

When will Instagram and TikTok work again in Azerbaijan?

Only whoever restricted them, or the platforms, can say. The status lines at the top of this page show what we last found and when.

Is it safe to use a VPN?

A VPN encrypts your traffic, but your traffic passes through the VPN company's servers, so who you trust matters. Pick one that keeps no logs and needs no account, and stay away from "free premium" APKs.
