Which apps are blocked in Türkiye right now?
We test every row ourselves. State and last check time are in the table. If an app will not open, follow the guide next to its name.

Open: loads without a VPN. Slow: loads, but photos and videos do not, which is throttling. Blocked: the operator sends you to a block page or cuts the connection. Unknown: not tested yet.
How we test
From Türkiye, with the VPN off, we resolve the app's domain through the operator's DNS and try to connect. If the DNS points to 195.175.254.2, the BTK block page, we call it blocked. If the connection starts and is cut at once, blocked too. If it loads, open.
Operators can behave differently on the same day: Turkcell, Vodafone and Türk Telekom may not agree. If yours differs, tell us.
When a state changes we update this table, the first sentence of the related guide and its page title together. We would rather show "unknown" than a stale "open".
Kinds of block
- DNS block
- The operator's DNS returns a block page instead of the site's address. Setting DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 is often enough. Discord, Roblox and Wattpad have this as their first layer.
- Connection cut (SNI block)
- Even with correct DNS, the site name travels unencrypted as the connection starts and the operator cuts it there. Changing DNS does not help; a VPN does. Discord has this as its second layer.
- Throttling
- The site does not close, it crawls: text loads, photos and videos do not. Applied to Instagram, X, YouTube and TikTok in Istanbul in March and September 2025.
- The app itself is down
- If Downdetector shows complaints from every country, the problem is the app. A VPN does not help; wait.
Questions
How often is the table updated?
The same day when a block is reported, daily while it lasts, weekly in quiet times. The last check time is on every row.
Does a VPN open all of them?
Blocks and throttling are applied by the operator. A VPN encrypts your traffic and exits through a server outside Türkiye, so the operator cannot see what you connect to and cannot apply the block. If the app itself is down, a VPN does not help.
An app is missing?
Tell us; we test it and add it. Only apps we have tested ourselves go in the table.
Is using a VPN legal?
No law in Türkiye makes using a VPN a crime; BTK blocks some VPN services. Details: Is a VPN legal in Türkiye? This page is not legal advice.
