Is your VPN actually working?
This free check tells you in a few seconds whether your VPN really hides you. It tests your IP address, DNS, WebRTC and IPv6 together, so keep the VPN on while it runs.
Running four checks. This takes a few seconds.
Your result will show up above.

Your IP address is what every website sees. With the VPN on, it should belong to the VPN's server, not to your internet provider.
DNS is the lookup your device makes before it opens a site. It should go through the VPN too, or your provider still sees every site name. The DNS leak test lists each server that answered.
WebRTC is the browser feature behind video calls. It can hand your real IP to any website, even with a VPN on. The WebRTC leak test shows every address it finds.
IPv6 is the newer kind of internet address. If your VPN only carries the older IPv4 kind, IPv6 traffic goes around it. When researchers tested 14 popular VPN services in 2015, 11 of them leaked this way.

If something leaks
- Disconnect and reconnect the VPN, then run the checks again.
- If DNS or IPv6 still leaks, the VPN app is not covering them. Switch to one that does.
- If only WebRTC leaks, the fix is in your browser. The WebRTC leak test page shows how to turn it off.
