Why is Roblox blocked in Türkiye?

Roblox has been blocked in Türkiye by court order since 7 August 2024. The problem is not your phone, your app or your data plan.

When and why the block came

7 August 2024
Adana 6th Criminal Judgeship of Peace ordered the block (decision 2024/5282) at the request of the Adana prosecutor's cybercrime bureau, under article 8/A of Law 5651, citing content that could lead to child abuse.
2 September 2024
Roblox appealed and said it was working with the authorities to restore access.
Since then
The transport minister said the block was a judicial decision, not started by BTK. In October 2026 roblox.com still resolves to the block page.

How to open Roblox in Türkiye with AkcaVPN

A VPN carries your connection through an encrypted tunnel to a server outside Türkiye. Your provider sees that you connect to a server, not that you open Roblox.

  1. Download AkcaVPN. It runs on iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows.
  2. Pick a location outside Türkiye and connect. If it is slow, try a stealth location; its traffic looks like ordinary web traffic.
  3. Close Roblox and open it again.

Once connected, run the DNS leak test. Everyone gets 777 MB a day for free, with no email and no card.

Questions

How do I open Roblox in Türkiye?

Turn AkcaVPN on, pick a location outside Türkiye, close Roblox and open it again. The block is applied by the operator; once your traffic leaves Türkiye through an encrypted tunnel, the operator cannot see that you open Roblox. Download AkcaVPN, 777 MB a day for free.

When will Roblox come back?

The block is a court order; it ends only if the appeal succeeds or a new order lifts it. Roblox appealed on 2 September 2024. Reports that it reopened appear now and then; we test it ourselves and write the result on the status page.

Does it fail on mobile data too?

The block is applied by the operator: Roblox does not open on Turkcell, Vodafone or Türk Telekom mobile data either. With the VPN on it works on both.

Is changing DNS enough?

The operator's DNS returns the block page for roblox.com. Switching to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 works on some lines; on others the connection is cut as it starts. A VPN works on all of them.

Can I set it up for my child?

You install and connect AkcaVPN yourself; it needs no account or email. Roblox's own parental controls work independently of the VPN, keep them on.

Is it safe to use a VPN?

A VPN encrypts your traffic, but your traffic passes through the VPN company's servers, so who you trust matters. Pick one that keeps no logs and needs no account, and stay away from "free premium" APKs.

Is using a VPN legal in Türkiye?

No law in Türkiye makes using a VPN a crime. BTK has blocked some VPN services since 2023; AkcaVPN is not on that list. Details: Is a VPN legal in Türkiye? This page is not legal advice.
